The most interesting part of the whole, unfortunately explained too roughly by the game, is instead that relating to physical alchemy. During each turn, the various characters can, in addition to moving and attacking, also use particular skills or use single-use objects, such as potions or throwing knives, which they do not require the use of action points. The scaffolding of the various clashes is the classic one based on the speeds of the various characters, with the order of action which is conveniently observable at the top of the screen. In the title of Warcave the various battles fail in fact, also due to animations often and gladly revisable, to render as they should, sometimes even being annoying when you can't avoid them. ![]() Where Black Legend does not completely convince, or at least not completely, it is instead in the backbone of every self-respecting turn-based strategy, that is, in the various discounts. Advancing step by step, area after area, enemy after enemy to reach one's freedom and the defeat of the cult is in fact quite satisfying, with the plot that all in all manages to hold its own in the course of all the game events. In the shoes of a small handful of criminals, who was promised pardon in case of success, we are therefore in Black Legend called to delve into Grant's alleys to put an end to the reign of terror of the cult of Mephisto and return the once laughing city to its citizens.Ī setting therefore characterized by a thick blanket of mystery, which is also one of the main strengths of the title. At the head of this gang of cryptic criminals there is in fact Mephisto, an alchemist as talented as he is dangerous who has gripped the whole of Grant in a thick fog capable of bringing the inhabitants to the brink of madness. The events narrated in Black Legend take root in Grant, a seventeenth-century city put in check by a mysterious and ruthless sect, which takes the name of the cult of Mephisto. Pending the official release of Black Legend, which will land tomorrow, on March 25, on Xbox One, PS4, PC and Nintendo Switch, so here we are to tell you our impressions on the latest Warcave effort. The colorful and light-hearted style of War Party gives way to here a dark and gloomy city of the seventeenth century, where the mysterious and the cryptic reign supreme and a halo of death hangs over everything.Ī particularly intriguing setting and with all the credentials to breach the hearts of fans, on which we could not help but get our hands well in advance. With Black Legend, Warcave has however decided to change not only genre, passing precisely to a strategic turn-based one, but also setting and themes. In recent days we immersed ourselves in Black Legend, turn-based strategy by Warcave, a software house already known to strategic lovers, this time in real time, for War Party, a discreet RTS set in a world between prehistory and magic.
